Xpress 10 Festival

More than 500 young people attended the RELAYS Xpress 10 Festival over the weekend of 25 and 26 September, 2010, at the Eden Project in Cornwall. The festival showcased some of the highlights of the RELAYS project and looked forward to the next two years of RELAYS in the build up to 2012.

The Festival included performances by exciting youth dance and music groups from across the South West, film screenings by young people along with one of the most popular attractions being the RELAYS ‘Urbanise’ area. Here, young people were able to take part in free-running workshops led by Devon Parkour, hone their street soccer skills, skate the half pipe and enjoy graffiti and DJ ‘ing workshops.

RELAYS (Regional Educational Legacy in Arts and Youth Sport) is funded by Legacy Trust UK and is an innovative and ambitious programme designed to inspire young people and their communities to participate in, create and promote cultural and sporting activities in South West England; aiming to create a positive and lasting legacy beyond 2012.
