Plans are taking shape for the exciting Cultural Olympiad programme that will animate Weymouth, Portland and the Jurassic Coast during the summer of 2012. The creative celebration – to be called Maritime Mix – London 2012 Cultural Olympiad by the Sea – will deliver a once-in-a-lifetime experience with outdoor theatre, open-air mass choir performances, visual arts, multi-media arts festivals, panoramic video projections, and participative music, dance and celebrations.

Be part of it! An invitation to perform in Weymouth & Portland in 2012
60,000 visitors a day are expected to visit the borough in search of an “Olympic experience”, sporting or cultural, and we want to ensure they are properly entertained at every stage of their visit.
To this end, the Borough Council are making a number of sites available for licensed busking and money collecting (no fees are available for performers on these sites) between 26.07.12 and 12.08.12 between 1100 and 1900hrs.
In addition, and over the same period of time, there may be some opportunities for paid buskers to perform within the Bayside Festival site.
If you are a street performer, experienced or just starting out, and want to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime Olympic experience, please complete the application form and send to Richard Crowe, London 2012 Creative Programmer, by March 15th 2012, at richard.crowe@artscouncil.org.uk
(Please note that the programme can be subject to change by the organisers.)
