Dartington Crystal has been awarded the licence to make a range of crystal and glass souvenirs to commemorate the London 2012 Games.
Dorset
- In 2008 Dean & Dyball Civil Engineering completed the second of two multi-million pound projects it has carried out at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, location for the Olympic and Paralympic sailing events.
Somerset
- B&B Moulds, based near Ilminster, worked as a sub-contractor to Tarmac during the construction of the Olympic Stadium and Hockey Centre.
- Blom UK from Cheddar has been contracted by the Olympic Delivery Authority to provide high-resolution, digital imagery of the Olympic Park.
- Yeovil based Ribcraft Ltd has made 64 RIBs which will act as support craft during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sailing events at Weymouth and Portland.
West of England
- Bristol-based Resource Futures successfully tendered the waste management scoping project for LOCOG.
- Fenton Holloway from Bristol provided the designs for the shell membrane and steel frame of the 11,000 square-metre Olympic Basketball Arena – the biggest temporary structure of its kind in the world.
Wiltshire
- Swindon-based Thamesdown Transport has been awarded a contract to supply 5 buses and 16 drivers for the Games Family Bus Services in London.
