The London 2012 Games offer South West businesses of all sizes the chance to capitalise on a wealth of commercial opportunities. More than £6bn worth of contracts, covering 75,000 projects are up for grabs.

We are working closely with businesses in the region to ensure opportunities presented by the 2012 Games are maximised and a legacy of economic growth is created.

Key facts:

  • Over 9,000 firms have registered on the free brokerage service CompeteFor which informs businesses of procurement opportunities throughout the London 2012 supply chain
  • 51% of registered South West firms have completed the qualification criteria to bid for contracts - the highest figure of any region!
  • Over 100 regional firms have been contracted by London 2012 for the delivery of services
  • Contracts worth £700m have been offered up by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games  (LOCOG) to provide the 2012 Games' venues and village with supplies as diverse as beds, uniforms and flowers
