Our Key Objectives

We have identified three core areas as the focus of our activity to deliver our Vision, contribute to the Government’s Legacy objectives and fulfil our obligations representing the region on the London 2012 Nations and Regions Group.

Our objectives for achieving our Vision are:

• Communicate opportunities for engagement with London 2012 and promote regional successes focusing on business, education, culture, volunteering, the London 2012 Inspire Programme and the Torch Relay.
• Provide a single point of contact for London 2012 in the region plus providing operational support and strategic coordination and to represent the region’s interests at a national level, contribute to UK resilience preparations, and host regional visits by London 2012 officials.
• Contribute towards a community legacy through engagement and partnership working with stakeholders focusing on bringing together partners that need volunteers and organisations that can provide them, achieving the highest sport and recreational participation rates in the UK by 2012, and maximising the performance of our elite athletes through the support of the whole community.
