WELCOME TO TEAM SOUTH WEST

Our vision is to deliver  “a lasting and discernible community legacy from the London 2012 Games in the South West of England.”

Team South West is the name given to the London 2012 structure – or partnership – in South West England. It encompasses the South West England Board for the 2012 Games, the South West England Operations Groups for the 2012 Games, the County Working Groups and RELAYS (the region’s Legacy Trust project).

2012 and beyond:

The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games provide a fantastic opportunity to capture the imagination of people in the region and to secure a lasting legacy now and for future generations.

They represent the most significant opportunity in our lifetime to build on the strengths of the South West,  to develop the economy, involve communities, increase sports participation and inspire young people to believe in the power of the Olympic ethos ‘to be the best they can be’.

The lead-up to the 2012 Games is not just about improvements to infrastructure, new partnerships and increased levels of sports participation, it’s also about things that can’t be measured such as inspiration, excitement and a determination to succeed.

Our Team South West Newsletter brings you all the latest news and events in the run-up to the London 2012 Games.

Embrace the potential

The South West is a unique region full of creative and passionate people living in an inspirational environment. The South West has a tradition for sport due to its unique coastline and diverse outdoor facilities. Sport is therefore at the heart of the community. The 2012 Games is not just a four week event, it is a force for change - unlocking potential and transforming the lives of real people in real ways.
